THE FARM
Cedar Gap Top Soils’ product is produced here on the farm with permits from DNR for a 50 acre ground disturbance to create ponds for fishing and wetlands for wildlife habitat. The soil comes from the excavation of the USDA certified organic Hay fields to develop ponds and wetlands. Our soil is harvested and tested annually. We send our soil samples to be tested through the University of MO Extension Center for nutrient content and Ph balance.

Process: I add lime and chicken manure to the Hay field then plow the sod under and plant wheat in the fall of the year. In the spring, I plow the wheat under and plant buckwheat then plow the buckwheat under when it goes to seed. The buckwheat re-seeds itself and grows a second crop. Then I harvest six inches of soil off the field that produces garden ready soil.
THE OBJECTIVE
To build nutrient rich soil by creating an optimal Ph balance (6.7) for premium growth results and nutrient longevity for you, my customer, to produce an amazing vegetable garden, flower bed, or lawn by simply adding seed, water, and TLC!!!! The goal is to provide a premium cost efficient product to maximize productivity for the home gardener.
